Extra points that your dad spent time on the RockPile and the personal connection with Marty's ex.

There may be just enough room in my carry on boot bag for two bottles of Moxie - hope you and UL don't mind if I just stick 'em in the Dobies....

See you soon (as long as Logan stays open after the Nor' Easter headed our way....jeeesh).

Doug, You can have the Moxie.

I had never seen Marty's last report but just to get to watch him "roll" again was all anybody could ask for words.gifwords.gifwords.gifbiggrin.gif

Thanks for years of smiles Marty !

Best report I ever saw from Marty was when his cat "Pushka" climbed all over his head while he remained true to to his craft.

"And the weatha' on top of Mt. Washington...." Brilliant.

Guess that you already know about CME, but if not, and Segbrown's ride doesn't pan out, here's a link for van service. Don't know where you'll be departing from, and local Bears may know of other options. Just my best effort amigo.

I say we don't let Finn out that easy. Keep the bugger in Colorado.

Phil, thanks but I was planning on coming out to stay at your house for the rest of April if that's OK? I'll supply the Rasputins........

No. He only does that in his moonlight job at the Stein Erickson Lodge at Deer Valley.

BREAKING NEWS;

A SIGNIFICANT PACIFIC WINTER LIKE STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING WIDESPREAD

PRECIPITATION AND HIGH WINDS TO MUCH OF WESTERN COLORADO OVER

THE WEEKEND AND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. AHEAD OF THIS STORM

UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL

MOVE TOWARD NORTHEASTERN UTAH AND NORTHWESTERN COLORADO SATURDAY

NIGHT THEN MOVE SOUTH THROUGH THE REGION SUNDAY. EXACT TIMING AND

INTENSITY ARE STILL IN QUESTION...BUT A MAJOR CHANGE IN THE

WEATHER IS CERTAIN.

PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR ALONG AND BEHIND THIS FRONT AS

IT MOVES THROUGH THE REGION. SNOW LEVELS INITIALLY WILL BE QUITE

HIGH AND AROUND 9000 FEET SUNDAY...LOWERING AS THE FRONT

CROSSES THE AREA BEFORE FALLING TO THE VALLEY FLOORS BY MONDAY

MORNING. EARLY INDICATIONS POINT TO SNOWFALL IN EXCESS OF 1 FOOT

FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND FROM 4-8 INCHES OVER THE NORTHERN VALLEYS

OF COLORADO. SHOULD THIS OCCUR...TRAVEL THROUGH EASTERN UTAH AND

WESTERN COLORADO MAY BECOME HAZARDOUS...ESPECIALLY OVER THE

MOUNTAINS.

We are bringing some of the extra snow from Tahoe.

Here is the CPF take on it.

Weather Summary

  • Get out the shorts, spring is back!
  • Saturday will be warm and sunny, though very windy by afternoon.
  • Snow will begin Sunday midday/afternoon for many areas, and continue Sunday night. While conditions could be good Sunday afternoon, I think the best riding will take place first thing Monday morning.
  • The shorts should return for next week as the spring sun heats things up.

Don't forget to pack the sunblock as the sun is much higher in the sky and stronger than earlier in the season!  I got my first raccoon eyes of the year on Monday despite the fact it was snowing all day.  Joel is predicting 5-10" from the Sunday storm.  If the last week or so is any indication, for Monday, I would take skis that do well in heavy powder- even if it is light in the am, the sun will likely make it heavier by pm.  If the storm totals are on the low end of the predictions, then it is likely that you will have some crusty snow to deal with under the powder (assuming that things freeze back up after Saturday's slush fest).  Rest of the week sounds like good spring conditions with refreeze early, then some corn and slush late.

I think you're looking for "SCHWING!"

Not sure how TSA would take that.  You might want to make sure you arrive very early for your flight if you want to try this...

This isn't his first "SCHWING" rodeo!  It's his regular routine when he passes through the full body scannerbiggrin.gif

For you, it is a full "Old Booty" scanner.

If things go as they are looking I too may be heading back then, but my car does not drive east if there's a snowfall 6" or more....

I'd like to suggest that retro day might be better scheduled for Friday at A-Basin.

Damn difficult to only watch folks ski this season…but still looking forward to saying hello to some old friends as well as meeting some new Bears out for the Gathering.

This morning I met up with some of the guide crew out warming up for the week on some perfect groom and bluebird sky…

Uncle Louie, segbrown, Betsy, COSkiGirl and Mr. Vertical.  Missing in the shots is our friend cgeib:

Here I demonstrated at UL’s side that street clothes on a day like this looks odd:

The gate line is empty for the group:

Betsy gives a smile heading off as COSkiGirl grins:

(Knowing UL) he’s already pondering “herding cats” at another gathering:

Certainly it’s going to be a great week of skiing.  Look forward to seeing everyone biggrin.gif
