2011 Fischer Progressor 8 - Removing binding toe piece?

I've just received a pair of 2011 Fischer Progressor 8's but sadly they came fitted with the wrong bindings.

The shop has agreed to change the bindings and I have offered to just take off the bindings and post them to them and do a straight swap.

This year the railflex system has changed and both ends are like a demo binding but the toe pieces will not come off- they hit a stop at the top of the adjustment range unlike the heel pieces.

I'm guessing there's a special 'handshake' you need to do but I cannot figure it out so would be very grateful if anyone can enlighten me.

Cheers,

RR

On my 2010 (and other) Railflex systems I remove both the heel and the toe pieces together in the same direction as a unit (including the piece they clip onto.)

My girlfriend has last years with the screw in the middle.

This years is very different- think demo binding meets railflex. The toe and heel are not attached to each other. Also it looks like the toe and heel height may be different. Perhaps lighter too?

Thanks for the linky. Some good info but alas does not show removal, only popping them on.

I'm wondering if there is a hidden catch to prevent removal that has to be levered with a screwdriver hidden between base of binding and rail. You certainly cannot just flip the lever and glide them off like the heels.

Just googled for the manual and found this. Haven't read it yet but will.

Thanks for the link to the manual. I had a look on page 29 onwards but it only shows popping the stuff on.

I wonder if there maybe something wrong with my setup as I would have thought if you needed to do something to take it back off it would be in the manual. Both toepieces are behaving identically though as if hitting a stop.

Did you try sliding the toepiece backwards instead of forward?  That's how the older ones worked.

The channels come to an abrupt end backwards, so forwards is the only way it can possibly go.

I guess will have to hope that someone who has the same 2011 setup stumbles upon this thread and kindly has a go at whipping off one of their toe pieces to see if they have the same problem.

My 2010's slide back just far enough that they can be lifted up and out.  They don't slide all the way back.

Good luck.

I had a looksee at the rail, but there are no notches to lift out. Definately a slide off the end job.

Thanks anyway for your help, appreciated.
