K2 obSETHed 2011 as daily driver on East Coast? - Page 4

"daily" driver?  No.

Camber/rocker - it's all about the shape of the ski in the snow and the pressure distribution required to achieve that shape.  A cambered soft ski is de-cambered when a 200 lb skier is skiing it.  Camber is like pre-stressing a beam; it will take some initial pressure tip and tail just to get it flat, but it will be "rockered" in shape when skied in snow with a skier on it.  How much pressure will be at tip and tail and what shape a ski will have when skiing straight ahead depends very much on the weight of the skier, with rockered skis being more rockered in shape in the snow with a skier on them than traditional cambered skis that have the same stiffness.

I am probably going to go with the Line Prophet 2009-2010 model, its cheaper, and personally like the design better. I am confused which is the flite, google shows the flite as both the beige-green ski and the gray ski.

Can anyone confirm which ski the prophet and which is the flite? Still undecided if I should go with the flites or not. I am around 180, 5'9, would get them in 165cm. Since everyone wonders what I ski like I figured I post me on Whiteface Mountain in March 2010. Im going down Upper Skyward this is how I like to ski down groomers, its the only footage I've got. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQwHrcHIhv4

No green in either. At 5'9" 180, try to find a 172 (at least) the 165, is not enough ski, it skis short. Both the Flite and regular 90's are great skis. Not to confuse you more, but there are a couple of Dynastars here that might work and are great values.

My Prophet 90's have the gray graphics. The Flite has a Greenish Graphic like the Prophet 100. At 180# you might want to find a 179, I ski a 186 at 210#.

I 've got a pair of K2 Rangers and they handle all conditions rather well.
