Yes, my friends; on Monday at 4MT on august 23, ITS SNOWING !

i was muddling thru another Mundane Monday. so i figured i check the breck cam just to see what it was like at a place i'd rather be than work any time of year and what do I see but the slopes of peak 9 turing white and the white substance going lower and lower on the slopes as the cloud this white stuff is coming from moves along:

So, i go the the breck mountain cam to verify i'm not seeing things and the peaks of 8, 7 and the range are whiter than my nephews backside:

Now, all this stuff is going to melt off as soon as it hits as its still 60 in breck; but all of you are warned. winter is coming again and there isnt a dam thing you can do about, except enjoy the hell out of it.

Not surprising. It was 45F and raining over night here at ~4500'. Defeinately feels like the long dry hotness of summer is breaking here in the Wasatch.

I sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm looking out my office window at the ski area and the only snow is old snow. 4th of July bowl is devoid of snow. Definitely nothing new. There's a tiny patch on the N side of Peak 9 and I mean the actual peak on the Ten Mile Range. Another tiny patch at the top of Lehman Gulch. There is a little snow up on the ridge between Peak 8 and 9. All old dirty snow.

Base of Peak 8, Half Pipe and possibly High Alpine Bowls cams are not live. They are old old old pictures.

You are right, though. Winter is coming and there will be snow soon.

In all reality winter can stay away till its ready to put a base down where ever I am going to skiing. unskiable snow just makes biking harder.

well, i'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you when i'm 1100 miles away and you're 100 yards away; but i know i did see a cloud go over peak 8 on the brecklivecam which was active yesterday and the slopes went from green to white during that time and i got very excited, which is something i tend to do entering fall every year.

expect more jubilant posts from me until the snow is coming down so much that i can't keep up with it all and i have to just sit and smile.
