Salomon 2010 boots: Impact, Falcon and CS gone

I was just on the Salomon website looking at the 2010 line up for boots.  It looks like the Impact and Falcon lines are completely gone and, perhaps more surprisingly, anything with the customizable shell.  Was the CS technology a flop?

Look again...CS is only offered in the top models...no surprise there.

Flacon was just the "public" version of their top end boots, the X2 was the true pro boot...and they only offered 1 model, although it came in different flexes via the plastic (Soft/Medium/Stiff).  Now it looks like they have combined Falcon with X2 to create the X3 range.  Although on re-read the true WC X3 model is still not widely available to the public.

Sorry, I missed this.  However, didn't a number of the Impact boots from 2009-2010 offer the CS shell?  Apart from the Ghost and Shogun, it looks like Salomon has a completely redesigned freeride collection.

Before you buy Salomon products maybe you should give this a look and see if it's a company that you want to give your money to.

just a guess, but I don't think their site is complete yet.

You know, every so often, a defect isn't realized until an accident happens.  Unfortunate to the victim yes, but not reason enough to completely turn your back on a company that has long made good stuff.  Salomon boots fit me better than anything else available and I'll continue to use them.  Sorry for your friend though.

Has the geometry (ramp, forward lean) changed at all from the Falcon to the X3?
