Any referrals for trustworthy mechanics that could inspect a used Saab for me without breaking the bank?

TIA

Hi Terry,

Hope all is well with you and your family, look forward to hitting the slopes again with you this coming season, sure enjoyed skiing with you and Sean.

Take a look at:

I have found folks in Cummins, Jeep and Mercedes forums that have helped me immeasurably.

I like Saab's. Which model are you looking at?

(Going to order my rotobrush soon!)

Hi Eric,

Yeah. Looking forward to another excellent season. Hope we don't have a make up skunk year to offset last winter......

Thanks. I found a Saab mechanic to do an inspection on a 2002 9-3 SE turbo . I've been wanting one for eons and it'll get almost twice the mileage as the Jeep. Saabnet had glowing reviews for the mechanic I talked to and he'll do it this evening.  Plus, I have a friend who can check it out Friday or I'll be heading up and driving back through Summit County (via Boulder) for lunch or a 'recovery' drink. Mr Barnes? Mr Geib? Anyone else?

Any news on the SAAB story?

I had to put this one on hold (too much with incidental costs) and am still looking.

I had a 1991 Saab 900S. I loved the car's look, but it slowly decayed on me, and ultimately caught fire while parked (no one hurt but the car was totaled). My boss had a much more recent Saab a couple of years ago. I had to give him a few rides to the dealership for repairs. It's anecdotal and unscientific, but I wouldn't buy another Saab unless I have reason to think they've significantly changed their quality and durability (which I guess is moot now).
