I found Philpug

I took the trek over the Sierra today, and found the formerly Philadelphian Philpug.  As I suspected he was stranded near Donner Pass.

Snow was conspicuously absent on top of Donner Pass looking down at the infamous Donner Lake.

My iron horse for the day.

As I drove by the lake, I missed the best of the scantily clad scenery.

Pickings didn't look too slim at Donner Lake, but we had to go further to find Phil

As expected however, he turned up at the Start Haus in Truckee.  Look at the poor guy, he's starving!

Things must be pretty desperate.  Outside his whole quiver was on sale at fire-sale prices.

Also ran into Sierra Jim today fresh back from a 2-week backpacking tour in the Sierra.  For some reason he managed to dodge the camera.  Fun to visit with the guys at Start Haus and start thinking about the season to come.  Welcome to the area Phil!

Below is my obligatory Lake Tahoe picture taken last week during a hike, the day after meeting Philpug with my kids.  Yes, he does exist.

As you say Josh..."really, who cares?" So WTF does is matter to you? Besides, AS he said, Cirque came in to ASK about new skis.

There's a big difference between trying different skis to see what they are like, to learn more about what it is you like in a ski and just having fun enjoying them vs. buying a bunch of ski's and saying you don't like them and dumping them.

While I don't know you, like many on this board I feel like I do from reading your posts.  You certainly look happy and healthy.  If you ever decide make an exploratory excursion farther north let me know and I will help show you around.

David,

LOL

We all want to come to Jackson Hole and ski with you, Bob Peters and Skiing in Jackson! Hell, Phil wants to go back to JH too!

I hope to visit Phil in spring, maybe we can do an Epic Ski with Phil in his new digs gathering!

This is my new favortie section of the forum.  TRs rule!  Stoke is great.

Great Pics of the lake.  I love mountain lakes.  Yellowstone, Jackson Lake, Jenny Lake...  They're all pretty, but Lake Tahoe is the King of 'em all.

I agree with both points here!  Phil, you do look fantastic and I'm so happy you've found your happy place!

And, what the heck is wrong with trying and buying different skis to find what you like most?  If you've got the funds and it makes you happy go for it.  Those who really know TC know she is more than generous with her funds, time and spirit and she deserves to spoil herself.

Alright, I'm going back to my lurking hiding hole now.
