What annoys you the most (or a lot) at resorts? - Page 6

What bothers me the most?  People.  Especially ski instructors.  I mean seriously, ski "pros" actually think they're working?  Gimme a break.  Skiing with someone and telling them to bend their knees and finish their turns is not a job, it's a joke.  One of my favorite things to do is shadow a ski lesson and shoot spit wads at the instructor.  Anyways, that's what annoys me.

Claiming that they are actually working, or claiming pro status. And "people" for sure. I was skiing on memorial day at Squaw and if you hiked you could ski the whole run and hardly see one person: outstanding. I did see one kid who said he wished it was always like this. But-cha gotta hike.

Chaos, somehow your pena'che is compromised if you have to edit your off the wall insults. It's too......practiced.

.  Most my instructor friends would disagree, try teaching someone a wedge turn on a bunny slope on a bluebird pow day when all your buddies are shredding the best lines.  Teaching an advanced group may be a different story, but teaching beginners is definitely work.

I hope everyone realizes that Chaos IS an instructor.

It was my secretary that edited my comment.  I fired her...but not before making sweet love to her.

Probably a very high level one at that.

I like to consider myself more of a ski escort.  See, women pay me to give them "ski lessons."  While riding in the gondola we discuss the finer details of "friction", "rotation", "forward pressure", and "correct hand position."

I only mentioned it cause it was eluded to during most of the post competition interviews at last seasons Olympics.  Even Costas said Bode wouldn't have had a chance without some chaos.

Actually the first thought when I read the title was that so many resorts are becoming "Disney-like".  Expensive, no character, too much resort-owned development, the same t-shirt in every store, every lunch costs $10 a person.  The first place that springs to mind is Whistler Blackcomb, but so many are going that route, that after a while I can't keep the places straight.  It's the story with much of the US these days, chain restaurants are the same in every airport you land, etc. Ski areas are getting to be the same problem.

I'll second that...  Out East it would be Stratton first and foremost.
