I'm kinda new here so forgive me if this subject has been done before...I read a post on tips for new skiers and the guy said something about not *reserving* a lodge table for hours with your stuff spead out while you are skiing.
That rang a bell!
This "custom" really annoys my wife and me-esp on the weekends when you've got a tray of food and every table is covered with jackets and coolers, but only a third of the tables are being used.
Last season a buddy of mine was the head enforcer of the lodge rules. He saw us perplexed by the sea of jackets. He said pick a table. We did. He moved the reservation items to a neighboring table and said to direct any complaints to him. He then proceded to move some snowboards outside-I guess some people figure rules (no skis/snowbords allowed inside) only apply to the other guy.
Oh, yea-I am old enough to not care and I will sit at a "reserved" table. Has not been an issue. Yet.
