Like Baz says, things are a little slow on the trip report forum, so here's a very short little video.
A group of us were hiking recently in the Wyoming Range to Ramshorn Peak. On the way up, we passed a fair-sized snowfield that looked ripe for glissading. On the way down, one of our group (who shall remain unnamed) decided to put on slick rain pants and slide down the snow.
Now, he'd never done any glissading before (butt or feet or otherwise), so I told him he needed to use his hiking pole as a self-arrest tool. I think he believed that the slope was shallow enough that it didn't matter.
