You think the 10 witnesses are all telling the same lies? you think that positives have not been "buried" by the very highest people in the Tour and UCI?
This is an action LONG over do.
and by the way...nothing will change in this or any other pro sport
I never said whether I thought he was guilty or innocent. It's just that so many are either "Oh, he's done so much good for cancer, let him go," and others are saying "Oh, he's a jerk, get him." Neither should matter.
As for the allegations, I pretty much agree with, well, who WASN'T cheating at the time, what are you going to do? If they strip his titles, then what? Are they going to spend all this money investigating the runner up, oh wait, already banned, next one down, etc etc. Of course they aren't. USADA can't strip anything, and whatever I read said they only have an 8-year statute of limitations anyway. It is prosecutor, judge, and jury all rolled into one, and it's not right. Look ahead. Do stuff now, don't spend all your money and energy on something that old. It's just vendetta.
As for Lance himself, I am pretty neutral. Don't care so much. I enjoyed the hell out of watching him ride all those TdF's, was well aware that he was probably doping, as were many of the others (the equal playing field). I frankly cannot imagine how anyone could ride 3 weeks like they do without robotic, gasoline-powered parts, so a little EPO here and there, meh. ;-)
He sounds like the kind of d-bag that is frequently found at the top of one's field, so that part doesn't faze me. I watch sports for entertainment, not really for inspiration or role models, and I've never had much trouble separating the two. Usain Bolt acts a bit like a fool, but boy I can't stop watching him run. If it turns out that he is juiced, I will still enjoy watching him run.
eta: For a while, I did think he was clean, because he was never caught even after the French went after him so hard. I figured if anyone would be caught, it would be him. But after a while ...
