I don’t know RicB. I had never heard of him much less met him until I joined this thread on Balance. So I don’t know much about RicB other than what I have learned from his comments. However I do know one thing for certain, RicB is a Ski Pro. He is the model the P.S.I.A. and every other ski teaching association should have their members aspire to.
RicB understands that his job is to tell his students in the simplest possible manner what they have to do so they too can eventually arrive at the place where they “just ski”. RicB is committed to this cause. He also recognizes that when his best efforts at explanation do not produce the expected results he can not blame his students. He can only blame himself for what he does not know. He knows he must ask himself one simple question “Why?” He knows the question often is the easy part. The answer will often be far from easy.
Getting the answer for his students is the reason RicB is on this thread. I am here for the RicBs out there any others who ask “Why”. This thread is not about a right or wrong way. It is about a better way.
RB: It's the best skiing boot I've ever owned, at least for me.
DM: Glad you like it. FYI I helped develop the shape of the tub your foot sits in. It took me
: a l-o-n-g time to convince the Austrians wider was better. While they finally got that message some other parts are not so good. Overall it has been a good boot for many skiers.
CalG and MilesB the answers are yes and yes. And, yes I am going to all those places.
