Whitewater Ski Resort near Nelson, British Columbia is adding a new ski lift. It's a major upgrade for the small area, approximately doubling the lift-served area and greatly increasing lift-served vertical drop to over 2,000 ft. It is a fixed grip triple. The chair is the former High Noon chair from Vail, according to the Nelson Daily News. They hope to have it operating for the coming season.

Local opinion on the new lift is, shall we say, mixed. Dedicated Backside (sidecountry) skiers are not thrilled, but those who tire of waiting for rides back up the access road or who rarely ski the backside because of the sometimes lengthy turnaround time are glad to see the "new" lift.
