I think people need to take responsibility for their own body. Sure it's a bad design and should be fixed. This is still no excuse from being trapped under it.
Kind of like getting hit by a train. You know it's coming, you've seen it go by before, and you still get hit by it.
Same thing with getting hit in the head with the bar when gapers pull it down to early. How many times will you need to get hit in the head, to realize that you need to be aware of what's going on around you? Gapers will pull it down early. Pay attention while loading, and keep your head out of the way of the bar. It's that simple. I took 3 hits to the head from the bar, before I clued in.
How many people were falling off the chair without the bar anyways?
How quickly does this automatic bar come down anyways? 1/4 second? 2 seconds? 5? I can't imagine it coming down lightning quick.
