Yeah probably, but his stem was longer than 90mm and he rode down a dam. And across a bridge railing and uh, well, damn!

eh you cant be serious can you? what would make a nose wheelie with no disc brake physically impossible.

alot of trials riders still use rim brakes.

I also got news for you, who ever that is on the road bike DID not learn how to do that on that bike and has to be like 1 percent of the top 1 percent bike riders for trials on the planet.

Why you insist on trying to make fun of me, instead of realizing that

A. MTB is bettter crossing training for skiing by a long shot. so whats you arguement for road bike over MTB for skiing cross training? The entire reason why I started riding bikes again in the first place was for ski cross training.

B. this is an extremely fringe video is like freestyle XC skiing.

C. there is no way anyone on here could replicate what this guy does on that bike, on that bike with out coming out severly injured with broken multi thhousand dollar bike.

D. people who ride road only do suck at bike handling skills. I would like to see one self professed roadie here hop a log over 18 inches. Even using the right tool for a job aka a MTB you still couldnt do it. So UGAskidawg great video actually imressive stuff, but if you want to prove to me road riders skills dont suck why not go out and try to show me yourself instead of showing one of the best trials riders on he planet. You could not handle a bike the way someone who MTB does. Last time I may have over stepped my bounds this time your trolling has brought any negative comments towards you are fair game.

edit read the despription

British trials legend Martyn Ashton does just that and more in his latest video, The BikeRadar Roadie.

The clip sees Mountain Biking Hall of Fame member Ashton hit the tarmac on his carbon Raleigh Avanti Team on his way to the UK's premier bike festival, BikeRadar Live -- which takes place on 10-11 July.

funny you basically are shooting yourself in the foot with this UGA. The guys is a MTB hall of famer trials rider, again MTBer have better skill. Please dont try again untill you have legit proof, your still lame as hell.

Pretty amazing riding.

That was one of the most fun videos I've seen in a long time.

The skatepark sequence was priceless, along with the beach sequence.

Whether someone rides MTB, road, bmx, whatever, there are things on any surface that can make the activity more or less similar to skiing or riding.  For instance, freeroading, including slaloming and yes even pumping a road bike, actually can be very similar to skiing, though the physics are not quite as similar as doing the same thing on a mtb with slicks or even a bmx bike.  We all can take a road bike and do 8s in the driveway as well.

I do think a lot of negative yuppie bike/car interactions in particular have as one factor the bike rider's lack of bike riding skills, but very few of those riders will be reading this forum.

yeah very good stuff. -  those with the skills like this just make it look so easy. goes with anything.

Is that the same guy from the 'tele switch carving' thread again?  Wow!

If so it really is just not fair!

Does not matter who this is he is an astounding rider.  We mere mortals would die trying this stuff.

Boy you are sensitive for one with such strong opinions.

I have no need or desire to convince or show you anything.  I'm not particularly concerned with what you think about my riding/skiing/life skills.  After all you are just some guy on the internet.  I am happy with my riding regimen and skills.  I hope you are happy with yours.  I ride for exercise and enjoyment and it has nothing to do with skiing.  I skied for years enjoyably without riding at all.  I don't find Mtn biking all that enjoyable and yes I have tried it and own a bike and actually raced it at one point back in the dark ages.

I don't think you are lame but you can be a bit of jerk sometimes but have a nice day anyway.

I don't care where that guy learned to ride or who he is or who has the skills for what -- that video is hilarious.

A+ would watch again! ;)

BWPA,

You get ribbed because you claim that all of the Roadies that came from a MTB background are better bike handlers. And that's a completely false claim. I even pointed it out in the last thread that Cadel Evan's recently got SMOKED on a descent in the Giro by a pure roadie.

I would agree with you that it mountain biking is better cross training for skiing, maybe not if all you do is rail grooms. But for sure if you do most of your skiing in more technical terrain.

at 2:30 is obvious CG work with the rock. The shadows and light are way off.
