6/6/10 - Medicine Bow Peak Trip; many good days left

Great pictures of closing day by Bob Barnes at A Basin.... (no bumps left to ski?.. ehh Bob)  my friend Bruce and his Laramie buds like to earn their turns on Medicine Bow Peak,  above Snowy Range Ski Area....record snowfall this year promises that Bruce and his friends have lots of weekends left....We left Laramie at 6:00 am and were climbing by 7:00 am,  since i am an alpine guy i did not have AT gear which would have made the going a little easier...but once we got to the 25 to 35 degree skiable terrain we were all hiking anyway....lots of terrific 1000 to 1500 vertical foot runs and chutes with great views and sweet aspects...snow was perfect from 8:30 am to about 10:00 am on the day we were turning .... make sure you stop in Centennial for beer and lunch to recharge....skimanP6050040-2.jpgP6050023.JPGP6050041.jpgP6050031.JPGP6050036.JPG

I love skiing medicine bow. It sure was a great year for snow, and the terrain is so much better than snowy range, earning turns up there is irresistable.
