Finally, something here I agree with.
For the readers here is a video clip of a skier who I believe is a student (not a pro) of another "system". I hope he doesn't mind me using his video. There has been a VAST change for the better in this persons skiing in the past few years. I think this is a clearer picture of what Skidude, Sharpedges and a few of the rest of us have described in this thread. As you can see there is very little extension.
Whether you like the skiing or not, I ask that you do not TRASH this person's skiing as he is NOT a poster here. I am using it only to show what I hope to be a better "picture" of skiing with minimal to no extension. (for the record I like his turns)
I just looked at that skier. I do not view that as "good" skiing. I won't go into details, but I would say the skier in the video has a ways to go yet.
He is having fun and I'm sure he is improving. I'm sure he is enjoying riding his edges around. However, for me at least, that is not an example that I would want to emulate. Can I ski like that? Yes. Do I want to? No. Would I recommttend someone to go take lessons for a "system" where those turns were one of the objectives that were taught to? No.
