Since it's June....  This was december 24th skiing with Ski-ra in the Shadows and 1:30 trees the first morning of dropping the ropes in Closets & Shadows. We had 18" of fresh on top of 4' of unsettled snow nothing like first tracks for almost the entire day....

Well, I must say that looks very nice for that fluffy airy almost-snow you guys usually get in CO.

Yeah, we get through it somehow, it really sucks when its blowing up in your face making it hard to breath and see......

Finn -- re your Steamboat pics -- that's typical?   I gotta get there!

Jim, I posted the stoke pics above just for kicks, that was the day of 18" fresh.

No its not typical but you can find powder stashes days after a good storm. It's not unusal to find decent soft snow for a week especially if the storm hits on a monday/tuesday. This was taken several days after we had anything fresh.

Back to the OP questions....

Marc,

at 5.7" and 190 (hoping to get to 180, yeah me too) , You say that you are considering buying but also might just demo again when you hit Tahoe  [plug] StartHaus in Truckee for your demo needs[/plug]. OK, ig you buy now sight unskied, there has beed some great suggestions but we don't know how these suggestions match the choices of demos compare to what YOU have access to from Snowbird.

What has not been answered (or asked here) at your size and weight along with being an intermediate who skis mostly in the East. What is your intention for these skis? How much will you be skiing them west? Are you looking for bowls? Trees? Steeps? Powderroy? If all, what percentage each? Will you be still taking BOTH pair of skis on trips with you or expect this to be an only ski for west?

At your size, how athletic are you? How old are you? As an intermediate, are you technically sound and/or are you still taking lessons and clinics?
