ON3p Presale Has Started

Just noticed that ON3p has started their presale:

http://on3pskis.myshopify.com/collections/2010-2011skis

Prices are not as attractive as last year and the general price of their skis has gone up about $100.

I have been thinking about some Billygoats and noticed that the shape has changed slightly (last year 140 115 120 this year 140 116 125).

According to the factory, they changed more than the sidecut.

Billy Goat - 186cm/176cm - 140/116/125
I made some changes to this ski and am very happy with them. We kept the rocker profile the same, but gave them much lower camber underfoot, increased the sidecut length by 5cm in the tip and tail (same rocker profile, though), and made the waist and tail slightly wider. As of now, we don't have a 191cm listed. Honestly....I think the Cease & Desist skis as well as a 191cm BG would. BUT if I get enough interest, I would considering making them.

The new vicik sounds like a *fantastic* all-around ski for the NW.  I'm not a big fan of buying w/o trying though, personally.  One of these days I need to make an effort to try and get on a pair of anything from these guys.

This is as close as you can get without skiing them.  If you scroll down they have quite a few ON3P reviews.

We have some Vicik demos mounted up here in the factory.  If you get a chance to make it down to Hood from Seattle this summer, stop by and pick them up.  We have a few other pairs you are also welcomed to take out.

Iggy:

I vote for 191 Billy Goats. Any truth to the rumor that you guys might combine the C&D and the BGs next year (2011-2012)?

you will just have to see :D

And as for the 191cm BG.....I have 3-4 people already.  If I can get 20-25 people, I will add it.  Basically just enough to offset the molds/cassette/tooling costs.

Iggyskier:

I am in Portland and was wondering if you allow people to come by and see how you actually build skis.  I think that it would be interesting.

for sure.  But give us a few weeks.  Our factory is in the middle of a rebuild so once that is done and things are rolling, you are welcomed to stop by.  Shoot me an email in a few weeks and see where things stand.

I saw this after I made the original post--l suspec this was in response to some who had complained about the packed snow performance (not really an issue for me since I would intend to only ski these on powder days).  I like the new graphic (but I also liked the old one).  Pretty tempting--also tempting is the deal on last year's C&Ds (my reluctance there is my concern that they may be stiffer than I want).

One thing I think is pretty cool about ON3p is that I sent them an email a few week's back and get a respose from the President/Designer/Production Guy/Mr. Everything/Iggyskier.  While I guess I really wouldn't want to hear back from the President of Head or Volkl on a product question, I still think it is cool to have direct access and feedback to the operation.

I will do that.  It sounds as if it could be interesting.

I have been meaning to do this for a while and still need to do it, but I purchased the 191 Wren last year and it is by far the best ski I have been on and the best built...  The Vicik will be a great replacement for my 190 Gold Goat and I purchased it last night - could not wait...

Iggy, I need to give you a holler as it sounds like I may have pulled the trigger a little early (being a previous purchaser) and also wanted to talk to you about possibly making the Vicik stiffer (= to the Wren - holy crap this ski killed it at Bachelor for me)...

The skis look totally sick and even though I like my top sheets from last year the 2011 is absolutely killer...  Also, my buddy I ski with pulled the trigger on the 191 Caylor...

Good luck and cannot wait for the Vicik's - already have a pair of Jesters sitting and waiting...

@ Buckeye,

I don't really understand owning Wrens & Vicik's with Wren Flex. The Wren does everything so well as is I can't imaging a time I would want them any thinner.Definitely overlaps IMO. My Wrens can even ski the bumps & hardpack far better than my buddys 179 obsethed that I tried. Of course if it was for touring I could understand.

Was thinking more about a 95ish type for an eveyday ski -- ala mantra -- but the vcik, along with the similary sized  moment belafonte are going to to be hard to  resist.

Is it me or does the tartan on the Vicik make you think of angus young?

I emailed you a month or so ago ("BG for a smurf"); how about a BG for little people?  If you get enough interest, are you in?  Anyone else interested?

How small are you exactly? The BG turns reeealy short when you need it to. I was real surprised with the way it skied. Stable in the straightline, and quick to turn where and when I wanted it too.

If you are looking for a pow ski. I think that they have a bunch of 171 caylors left in stock also.

EC,

The skis are for my smurf wife (5'3" 105 lbs) who skis either a volkl cosmo (92 underfoot) or the first year Kiku (105 underfoot) on a daily basis.  I got on the Super 7 this year and I want her on a ski of that shape for the storm days.  The problem for her/us is that the ski in the width(s) we want either doesn't come short enough (say 165 +/-) or if it does, as in the case of Rossi, it no longer has the width we want (as they get shorter Rossi makes them skinnier as well).  And while there's more to a good pow ski than just waist width, I want the shape and the width.  So in a perfect would, a 165 Billy Goat or a Voodoo Pro BC/S7 but with the dimensions you see for the 176 (140/110/118).  Maybe I'm just being thick, but this doesn't strike me as that odd a request.
