Bindings for Prophet 100's ?

Hi All,

Have been trying to read as much as possible about bindings: fore- aft adjustment, lift, integrated systems, etc.Fascinating stuff but I'm feeling a bit confused at this point. Any recommendations for an intermediate skier weighing 150# on Line Prophet 100's? What does one get with a more expensive binding? Less plastic, more safety? Thanks.

A better binding will give you more lateral rigidity. On a wider ski, that is important, so why you are looking for a higher edge angle, the ski is going to hold as you would expect it to. Granted, carving is not going to be your first priority with your Prophet but that better binding will give you a more solid interface. With your weight, you really don't need a super high DIN binding, so my first choice for you would be a Marker Griffon, a 12 DIN laterally stiff, light weight binder. Second choice is a Salomon Sth12.

Agreed. I own the Prophet 90s and I mounted a pair of Salomon Sth12 bindings on them. As far as my weight I am on the smaller side 155lbs. Anyway I really like them. And when I am doing laps in the terrain park or taking a small drop in the backcountry they really absorb the impact. So they will be a great binding for you as you improve your skiing. Oh and they look awesome too!

Thanks Phil, I learned something I hadn't even considered, 'lateral rigidity', makes sense with a wide ski.

Tahoe is a great place to be, winter or otherwise! I'm down the hill in the Sacramento area but try to get there as much as I can. You're going to love it!

We will find a way to hook up. Let me know how I can help in the meantime.

REI has Rossignol Freeski 110 XL Bindings with 100mm brakes on sale now for $79.93. What do you think of this binding on a Prophet 100 for a 185 pound progressing intermediate skier?
