Thank you Pete.  I'll make note of that.  It's great how everyone is jumping in to help out with this, however they can!

Not sure if I can be in Breck then, but I would definitely buy a dvd on nastar tips if one were available. My wife even enjoyed racing the Breck nastar course.

I am very interested.....whether I can attend or not is another story.  Wont know until the last minute.

Here's another vote for "Gate Crashers". This should be a great time! I sure hope I can make it!
The next big question-if we're going for NASTAR team points, who's bringing a suit?

No plan for using any special software, just plain ole video.  We'll probably do review back at the hotel in the evening.  Gives everyone a chance to change, relax, and view/study in comfort.

There's a monitor available in the bottom of Ten Mile Station for video review.  Bring your own wiring to connect your camera.  I think the policy is you can use it if the ski school staff isn't using it.

Recently, after one of our Ski Instr Race Series events here at Vail, the fast group were described as a bunch of "50 yr old boa constrictors who had just eaten a family of goats". If that visual doesn't make you cringe, then bring out the suits!  ;)

HAha that's awesome. There are already offers in this thread for photographers and videographers too!

Reminds me of the story the Little Prince where the boa ate an elephant.

I'm in the same boat as a few posters in this thread.... feeling the desire to say thank you for this generous offer, wanting to say yes, I'll be there with bells on but needing to factor in my ability or lack thereof, to break away from my responsibilities at home.

At this point I'll add my name and hope for the best as this is an opportunity not to be missed... if possible.

As far as names go, I kinda like The Gated Community.  Even if Epicski needs to distance themselves from this for liability reasons, this is still a community driven event as well as one that will further build this great community that we all belong to.

I'm 99% in, if it's in January, 50-50 in December.  It would be much easier to sell it to the wife if it was during school break in January.

We're 99 percent sure it's going to be January.  Seems to be the majority preference of the people interested.  Also, best chance for great snow.

Those interested in getting their best possible NASTAR handicap will want to bring a speed suit if they can get a hold of one.  It's worth about 5 handicap points.  I've tested it a few times.

If you don't have a suit, stretch pants and a tight turtle neck, or similar close fitting clothing, is far  better and faster than puffy pants and jackets.  Getting cold is not an issue.  You simply wear a warmer layer of pants and jacket over your tight fitting under layer, than strip them off at the start.  A cloths runner can then bring them immediately to the finish for you.

+1

Note that this coach is bringing his speed suit to the camp, so.... there 'ya go.

And running clothes is part and parcel of ski racing: it does make life easier if you wear The Suit.

Depends on how fat your skis are.

What are the guidelines for dress codes vs ski width? Skinny-Spyder raceo get up. Fat-Steezy Bro-brah jacket. I'm sooo out of the loop.

slider…no worries.  Take a closer look at my friend segbrown in the picture as she crushes those gates.  Now imagine wind tunnel smoke passing by her.  In aerodynamic terms, she represents the lowest drag coefficient I could ever hope to achieve even with that storage room closet/city H2O reservoir strapped to her back

Suit you say?  I wear an Italian one to work...not to ski in

I'll be rocking a wetsuit...

Mine will be wet too, either from perspiration or from melting snow, accumulated during horizontal moments.

I don't even have one of those.

Okay, I should shut up or I'll get kicked out of this thing before it even starts. And I'll just subtract the five handicap points in my brain, which is good enough for me.

You could always have a clothes runner bring your backpack down for you - happy to help with that!  :)

But don't I carry my clothes in the backpack?? :-) Nah, I just always giggled at that photo, I don't usually use a backpack when I ski, but we spent the first 5 hr of the day out touring (hence the pack), then ran gates after we returned to the lifts. The guy behind me in the gates had a shovel on his pack; I wish I had a photo.

I think this is the most complete list, hope I pulled the last one.  Anyhow, Old Boot and myself would be interested in coming out for this, it sounds terrific.  He's finally home to see it and says, sign us both up.
