Volkl R1 Unlimited ski's

Hey,

I am new to the site, but had question about the Volkl R1 Unlimited skis.  I ski approximately 4-6 times a year in CO at various resorts, and stick to mainly blue, and some blue/blacks.  I occassionally ski bumps, but mainly stick to groomers and trees.  Do you think the R1's would be enough ski for me, I see they are rated for "beginners" and I do not classify myself as a beginner.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question.

No, they will not be enough ski for you. Even skis that are rated intermediate are generally barely good enough for anything more than gentle blue terrain cruising.

So in case anyone was wondering I went with the 09'/10' Volkl Unlimited AC 3Motion.  I got to demo these and really enjoyed them.  I think they will be a good recreational ski for me.

Boots. Boots. Boots. That is where you invest at this point. A proper fitting boot should get you through your first two or three pair of skis.

Yeah, I have been thinking I will go to a proper boot fitter and spend the extra money on boots because they should last me 10 years or so if I get a good pair, right? Does anyone recommend someone in the Denver area?

It's not in Denver, but I had a great experience at Larry's Bootfitting in Boulder.  I think he's closed for the season but you can hit him up next season.

I don't know about 10 years for a pair of boots, but they should last a while.
