Likewise TC.  Likewise.  I'll try to free the schedule up for that Sunday.

It just keeps snowing up there.  Another four inches this morning and more to come in the next couple days.
Work can wait.  It will be there when you return ;)

Nice dry snow this morning over some fairly hard snow.  It was easy to post-hole into a hard knob in the bumps, but otherwise the snow was great and held up really well.  Should still be pretty sweet next weekend!  Like I said it was still snowing when I left at about 1:00 today!

It appears for certain I'm going to miss this opportunity to miss this event to meet fellow EpicSkiers. Work's sending me 8,000 miles away and there's no way out of it......so no more skiing

Now knowing there's this tradition, I'll have to make arrangements for next year..... to the lucky ones who'll be going, enjoy!
It was coming down an inch an hour this afternoon at Loveland (closing day, if you can believe it!). I'll be at the Basin on Tuesday morning, I hope, barring a horrible call night tomorrow. Unfortunately I will miss next Sunday- we'll be in Boston for the weekend. Have a great time!

Looking in typical Mothers Day A-Basin form.
So how do we hook up? I'm going to try to get out on Friday, most definitely on Sunday for a few hours, at least. I haven't been to a beach party (at A-Basin) this year; this is one I'm sure I won't want to miss.

Is any equipment needed on the beach? I'm going to put all my beach chairs in my truck, at the very least.

 Ask and you shall receive..........
Meet up at the legend, eh?

If its a powder day 8:30 at the base of Exhibition lift. If its a killer powder day, don't expect any one to wait

If its not a powder day 8:30 in the AFrame near the coffee shop

If you miss the first meet up, then we'll see you at the mid mountain lodge for lunch 11:30

Definition of powder day may vary for some of us, but you can use your imagination, eh?

This schedule may change for Sunday depending on Beach Weather and activity.

MR, please do bring your beach chairs.  I, for one, will not have the ability to bring mine on the plane.

I will be skiing Sat/Sun/Monday

For the locals - do conditions warrant bringing moguls skis?  (serious question)

There are bumps.  Conditions could be anything from powder soft bumps, hard scraped off bump or spring slush bumps.  Many will spend time on Palli.  I'll be skiing my Auras.
dedicated bump boards?  Count on bumps but don't base what you bring on them. My guess is you will be skiing all mountain conditions with an emphasis on off-piste- side country conditions.
I can take two of these four skis:

  rossi mogul
  blizzard 7.6 IQ
  watea 94
  elan 1010

if the bumps are really nice, i would take the rossis and the 94s or 110s

i got a three day lift ticket for just under $111 at www.liftopia.com
post #83 of 255
my .02? wait until the last moment, see what the conditions will be like. Then grab 2 and enjoy. Hopefully, the 10's will be the weapon of choice! :)
If you ski all three days I suspect you will have a variety of conditions - they vary from one part of the mt to another depending on amount of sun/clouds/wind and of course the temps the day before.  6 day forecast are not very accurate this time of year, but it does look like there wont be a big powder day this weekend.  Check out these two sites the day before you leave (or the morning you leave) to get an idea of the weather and grab two pairs of skis.  Pali bumps are usually reasonable snow this time of year - its north facing so doesn't get much direct sun.  I might be up there on Thursday and can give a brief report if I go.

FWIW…Skiing everything at Loveland this weekend from launching off cornice above 13k into a over a foot of windblown to that of scraped off Frankenbumps in the narrows far off right of chair 4; the posse was standing on everything from 66mm SL’s to teleskis to god knows how wide Bklyn Tracy had underfoot.  Nobody changed skis in two days, everyone skied well and the group hung together without a complaint or pause.  No worries about skis.

However, what’s up this “bringing folding chairs” discussion.   Who the hell is going to be sitting down  You only slide by and wave to those on the beach on the way to Pali because if you don’t that techno music someone’s been beach blasting every weekend this past last month will have you brain dead before close.  Trust me; nothing is good about that long looped sound track they’re dancing to down there

Looks like some precept Thur thru Sunday that could just hide from sight some awful crap on the run out from Pali or could really soften it all up front to back.  Who knows?  We’ll see you there

The only skis I'm bringing are my Kastle FX84's.
I'm going to ski them no matter what the conditions are and I'm going to like it!

...more like it's a mag mini each Saturday at the Legend mid April thru close   But if sitting at the beach is must better use the officially licensed chair so you look local  .

I realized the Maggot Mini is Saturday, but I think I'll be taking advantage of the snow conditions since I'm traveling from Michigan, eh?
Well, provided I can manage to check my skis between flights Thursday morning, and bum a ride on the 1755 out of PHL, I will be there for Friday and Saturday crashing with the noofus crew.
