Is core broken or just bent?

I was having problems keeping my edge one day, so I took my skis (K2 Apache Cross Fires) down to the shop and had them tune them up. When I went to pick them up the shop guy asked me if I new my ski was bent! I said NO! He said that this usually means that either the ski is bent or the core is broken. So my question is: is this something that is fixable either way?

Nope, they are done.

Bend the other one to match and they will be rockered.

No not really, it is just noticeably flimsy and will bend toward me. Now that it has been pointed out to me I do notice about six or 8 inches or so of the tip bouncing around when I am skiing. Also if I lay them on the ground and push down on them you can see that there is no contact between the ski and the ground at that point, like I said about 6 or 8 inches from the tip.

based on your photo, yes your ski is bent. a good shop can attempt to bend it back. if the core is damaged, it is not repairable. also based on the photo, i would be surprised if it is anything more than slightly bent.

the only way to find out what you have going, is to attempt to bend the ski back. find a shop with a competent tech that has a bending bar and a flat milled I beam, to check the work.

there is always the possibility that the ski can be broken in the attempt to bend it back.

I heard K2 was putting early rise in everything next year. Guess your 50% ahead of the curve.

I would take it as a good excuse to get new skis.  I don't even get mad when my skis break.
