Man, I am SO sorry. I've seen my share of ugly MTB injuries but this one is right up there. (Friend impaled a calf with a brake lever last year, but the end had broken off the lever previously, so it was sharp. Yours obviously still had the knob on the end.) That looks like it really really hurt. Heal up, brother.

PS: If you are now prejudiced against those Hope brakes, I will take them off your hands. (Oops, poor phrasing, perhaps.)

Well crud ... so much for the wellspring of fellow-skier-and-biker sympathy. Really don't like to see this stuff at the very beginning of the season. Does NOT get my enthusiasm level up.

Ouch.   That' the only thing bad about biking.  Crashes hurt a LOT more than skiing!
