Closing Day Powder - No. Idaho

Lookout Pass ski area closed Sunday (see Bonni's post-free skiing).  They had closed chair 3 a few days earlier so there was some snow on the runs.  Neat thing is there is no way out from the bottom unless you want to walk about 2 miles or you have a snowboard friend who owns one of these:

Skied that day with Gary, Van and Jon, some of our tracks coming down Big Wood

More of the crummy April snow.

A great day for all of us.  this was my last run of the year at Lookout.  What a way to sign off.

Lots of smiles and fun, 4 guys on ropes behind the sled speeding along the RR right of way back to the lifts is always fun.

Had a great day at Silver on Sat but it was snowing so hard didn't take any pictures.  While traversing out of the Meadows on the back side of silver  came upon two skiers resting on the side of the hill.  they were both from Iowa -  boy what a freak thing that was.  Their lst statement, "Boy it is sure nice skiing a real mountain".  Another great year.

Oh yes another great part of the day skied with my wife all afternoon.  Thats my wife Sandee coming down the front of Lookout.

Looks like some great runs were had.  It is sad that areas close with good snow still coming.

Thanks for the invite yesterday Pete but I didn't want to abandon Bonni because we were having too much fun for two people. I know the powder was delicious, soft and very slippery. It was perfect texture. Bonni let me adventure a bit and meet her farther down. What was that run Bonni that choked into a ski length with skid path ?  Anyway we learned a bit of  pivoting/slipping there. She did very well

Pete, did you get a chance to do any tree skiing?

The trees at Lookout are strewn with hazards just haven't had enough snow this year.   April 3rd did some great tree skiing in the North Face Glades at Silver, Garry Z was with me and it was pretty good.

Great score Pete.

A fine way to put Lookout Pass away for the year.

So you're saying you lead the way......

Note to Garry......when tree skiing with Pete, always let Pete go first.

TC my crash into the trees at Big Sky is still my all time best-  Definitely didn't want to hurt the pretty skiers out ahead of me. Garry wouldn't rate such a detour.
