I and a friend skied Belleayre in the catskills last Sunday, the 21st, then Jiminy peak on Friday the 26th and yesterday at Okemo.

The drive to Okemo showed Stratton, and Magic all looking good from the distance , Bromley from up close.  Bromley s lot was virtually empty at 9 ish and again at 4 ish as we drove by.

Lets just say that skiing is not done---based on snow conditions---at any of these places...based on crowds and breaking even costs wise---not so good for the areas but GREAT for skiing public.

never waited more than seconds anywhere and Jiminy Friday was like having an area all to ourselves.

Belleayre and Jiminy were 100 percent open and at Okemo only some of tree glades (like Black Hole, Stump Jumper and Loose Spruce) and and Wardance were closed....maybe a few more, but easily 90% was open.

Conditions were midseason coverage soft and deep at Belleayre to thinning with some bare spots at Jiminy, hard well groomed in the am, but very skiable, to Okemo which was , from the lifts, close to fully covered with some bare spots on the trail sides, hard, but very skiable in the am, softened nicely starting around 10:30 ish.

I'm a novice bumper and no fan of trees---sort of like bushwhackers tagline-----double diamond and outrage kicked my butt in the early going but I looked almost like I knew what to do in the early afternoon on the intermediate bumps on Ledges (I think thats the run name)  Was a great 7 days here in the NE.

May go back to Belleayre in April but I thinlk I am done now for the year.
