Knee deep at Snowbird today, Friday 3/26

Excellent skiing at the bird today. Yesterday was Vermont-like firm. More than 13" fell today, and the snow adhered to the ice well.

Many locals considered it to be a "top 5" powder day this year.

Huh, adheared to the ice?  There wasn't ice before this storm.  I'm sure it was good, it always is, but only the locals who don't make it up very often would put 11" in the top 5 of the year.  This year hasn't been *that* bad.

There had been recent thaw and refreeze cycles, I call that "ice".

We missed you while we got untracked until way after lunch at an almost empty Stevens.

How did Baker ski? (we thought about heading your way...)

I couldn't get up there today. But it looks like more tonight. Will be there tomorrow even if it is a Saturday.

I had to work (!) today and missed it.  I'll be there tomorrow for sure.  I've only got a very few days left to ski this season since I'm headed south in a week and won't be back until the week before Baker's closing day.  I'll get in 4 more if I'm lucky.

I was going to post, but you beat me to it. I'd agree with top 5. In fact, it was my best day of the season. It was not nearly as crowded as I expected it to be and there was a ton of fresh.

Awesome, glad to hear you are out there to enjoy it.  I heard from a friend in SLC that it was pretty good.

The snow came down hard in the morning and afternoon at the rate of 3 inches an hour. I enjoyed skiing with locals, including Lynn, Peter, Mark & friend. The lower pictures includes the Rossignol s7's I demoed.

Hey Wildcat!

Could you make your pictures just a little bigger? I'm having a hard time seeing the detail hahahaha

Hi!

The s7's were outstanding.

Their powder performance was superb, very easy to turn in any situation. A skier can produce longer turns by allowing the reverse camber to produce an arc. A skier can also smear a turn to easily avoid an obstacle or to scrub speed.

The firm snow performance was very good also. These will never perform like a high performance carving ski, but they do produce good quality turns on hard-pack with little effort. I could easily replace both my Spatulas and my Watea 101s with this ski. This is a truly versatile powder ski.
