As the topic states, my wife and I are considering a move to Western Canada. A number of vacations to various parts of Alberta and BC have left us wanting for the west coast lifestyle. We would be looking for someplace to throw down roots, so a community oriented atmosphere would be a huge plus. A balance of the mountain lifestyle (outdoor activities: skiing, biking, hiking, camping, etc) and the opportunity for decent job prospects are also important. Real estate prices will be a factor, but we do realize that in most cases there isn't a bargain option in these areas. We're obviously willing to downsize from our current house here in Ontario to get what we want out of life.
Anyone have any suggestions, or could possibly offer some tips to make this as smooth a transition as possible? If you've done it, i'd love to hear your story.
