Forum Suggestion

Can we have a forum that is open to other topics?

How about a forum that's not ski related and not listed under forums list, one open to all topics.

One that someone could start a motorcycle thread in, someone could start a car thread in or anything.

After reading another thread only to have it moved, and the OP can no longer post in it because it was moved to a restricted area, I feel it would benefit this community to start such a forum.

And it should be open to ALL.

As I said in the other thread, the one I can no longer read:

If it's not open to all, it's not for me.

Just a thought.

Sounds like socialism to me.  You want to have someone give you, free of charge, a place to post anything you want and someone else will pay for it.

You can have what you ask for by paying a few bucks for the right to do it.  If you can't afford it, too bad, so sad.  It's the American way.

Jag, we have a "Politics and Hot Topics" section in the supporters area. If you want to discuss/argue/rant about why your political/religious etc ideas are correct and others are wrong (or even just read it to get an understanding of differing viewpoints), then all you need to do is become a supporter (there's a button at the top right of the screen to do that).
Otherwise, EpicSki is about snowsports and we try to keep it to that - with a few extras along side it.
Snow isn't Republican or Democrat. It's not communist or facist, it's not atheist or Christian or Muslim or Hindi.
Snow is snow. It's there to be enjoyed.

It was only a suggestion, you don't have to be a jerk.

BTW, Advertising is the American way.

I wasn't looking to argue politics or religion, just thought it might be a good idea to have an open for all (topics) forum, that's all.

If it already exists and is limited to just supporters; that's the way it is, I'm sure you have your reasons.

Thank you,

Jag

Well, you already knew it existed and was just limited to supporters, because you said a thread had been opened and then moved to a restricted area (i.e. to the supporters area).  So, yes, that's the way it is.  So, why this thread then, following your own logic?

I occasionally post motorcycle stuff in the Off-Season Sports cycling forum....just to piss off the peddlers.  Between humor and a number of off-season sports areas, there is some off topic stuff in the forums.  The Supporter Lounge is very much an any topic goes area, and the Politics and Hot Topics can be fun and is essentially unmoderated.  People who support the site have traditionally been give a little more in return for their financial support, and we are always looking for ways to make that even better.   The supporter lounge kind of feels like old-EpicSki due to the smaller group of people who get to know each other.  It seems to work pretty well, but I can see why someone who never joined might not appreciate it or want the same thing in the free forums.

Well, I didn't know this type of forum existed, that is why I suggested it, duh!

I just knew it was moved to a political forum, as a matter of fact, I didn't even know there was a political forum until the day I posted this. I just thought a forum open to all for all would be a good idea, it already exists I'm told, that's it.

Should I be ridiculed for suggesting something in the ""Suggestion"" forum?

Thank you for the further insight and not replying in a contravening manner. Though I'm not into arguing politics (cause I'm always right ), I've changed my view on the supporter thing.
