Thanks I did have a good time & wish I was still there. The reason I went is because of the great reports & looking at the weather forcast for the week I went. The east got washed out relatively early this year with the onslaught of warm weather at the end of March but I did get in quite a few fleece days while we still had good snow. Starting this week Snowbird is only open Fri-Sun. I looked at the forcast for Snowbird & it has snow for the whole week. It's a shame the lifts aren't running.
is it worth going to Salt Lake City in early April? - Page 2

Way late reply to this, but I want to add my $.02. The only time I've ever skied Salt Lake was the first week of April. I was starting training for a new Job there April 7th, so I went on April 1st.
Day 1: Park City. Sunny Blue Bird Day. Fast snow. Good coverage.
Day 2: Snow Basin. Low Overcast. Fog at the top. 8" new snow but it was wet.
Day 3: Solitude. Sunny Bluebird AND Powder. I don't think it was new powder, but nobody had been skiing it. The groomers were fast, and the cliff line at the skiers left tippy top, nobody had touched, and cotinued not to touch all day.
Day 4: Alta. Holy Crap! Blue Bird Powder 8-10" new. Cold and dry.
Day 5: Brighton. Meh. Not a big fan. Could have been the wet sloppy snow that froze then got wet and sloppy again. Also overcast.
