I ski the stockli scott schmidt in 89mm waist and love the ski but its not an all day ski and I always have to be on my A game.
Me: 6'2" 260 Solid level 7. Getting closer to 8.
The Schmidt is stiff enough for me and (never thought I'd say this about a ski) but sometimes a little too stiff.
My favorite use for the schmidt is for chop, crud, soft snow, etc. It just blasts through it. But, it totally sucks in moguls. I know the pilot has a lot to do with moguls, but this ski is so stiff that moguls can be a pain.
I've tried the 101mm waist schmidt pro and it skied much easier than the 89mm.
I've heard great things about the Watea 101 and it sounds like it may be an easier to ski all day than the schmidt. I saw a guy ripping on that ski today at hunter and he really loved it but he was much lighter than me.
Wondering if the watea 101 is too soft for me?
