Roxys...too old to sport them?

My wife wanted me to ask. She's looking at a good deal on a nice pair of Roxys. The skis fit her skiing type, ability etc perfectly. She loves color and funky designs but said she sees a lot of younger girls sporting Roxys on the hill. At 40 years of age is she going to look like a middle aged woman trying desperately to look hip and relive her youth? Wish they actually fit me....but then I'd have to break out the red clown nose...

Tell her to get a life. Err by life I mean ski life.  If she is afraid to get them because of what complete strangers will think, she obviously isn't skiing the powder gnar.  People cant see your skis in the powder gnar.

Wait, no, that is not the lesson.  tell your wife she is being dumb for caring about what others think of her.

At Vail last week, I skied up to a Poma lift, where a gentleman was explaining in great detail to his female companion how to ride the lift.  They were blocking the lift entrance, so the gentleman motioned to his companion to step aside and said, "Let this kid get on the lift."

I am 43.

But in my plaid jacket, loose pants, audio-equipped helmet, fat skis, and face mask, I suppose I did look like a kid!

So, tell your wife to rock the Roxy's, and pick up a steezy jacket too.  Goggles and a bandana around her face, no one will have any clue how old she is.

Nuff said...I think she'll look really hot in 'em and that's all that matters!

Make sure you get a few tall T's to go with them and an extra pair of iPod earbuds.

Roxy makes a nice ski.  IMHO if you demo it and like it, buy it........the rest is left up to skiing 'em!
Let it rip!

Tell your wife to get the Roxys. Then you go get yourself a bitched up Maxima (or whatever that would symbolize your youth).

Seriously though, I don't think Roxy's graphics is too far out there (based on the ones I've seen). It's quite conservative as compared to Line, Armada or what have you.

Right about that!!!

I could be way off base here, but aren't Roxy skis just the Rossi & Dynastar women's lines with different graphics?

Get 'em, who cares what other people think.  My daughter has Roxy skis and matching boots.  She absolutely loves them, how they ski and how they look.  I got them for a great price as they were the previous year model.  Same ski different top-sheet.  I think I read somewhere that Rossignol makes Roxy skis.

Nothing wrong with a 40 year old HIP skier ... IMHO we need more of them

Yes-ish.... all Roxy's skis are made by Rossi or Dynastar, but I believe some of the models are Roxy specific (Swell and Juicy certainly don't have Dynastar/Rossi equivalents).

Waited too long to pull the trigger and now they're gone. Looking at a much less-sexy setup now, but with a little more upside to grow into...but she'll still look hot. Good she convinced me to get a helmet, 'cause if she's me posting about her looking hot she'll probably be taking her Sugah sticks out on me.

If you still want Roxy's, I have a used pair for sale.

Thanks! We actually ordered the other pair last night. She wasn't really looking for Roxy's...they were just a good fit at a good price and happened to have the cool design element.
