Lake Tahoe resorts

Just came back from Park City (did all three resorts) and did Snowmass  (skied mainly at snowmass) last year.  Snowmass we stayed ski in/out while at Park City we stayed at Marriott Park City where we used either hotel shuttle or was right on bus route. Just wondering what resorts in the Lake Tahoe area woud be similar.
While I would prefer to use timeshare (II), I am not opposed to hotel.

Tahoe consists of 2 areas...North Lake Tahoe and South Lake Tahoe. Reno is convenient to both (more so north) and I think most hotels there run shuttles, though check to be sure.

Heavenly is at the south end and has lots of lodging options, some convenient to the gondola that begins right there in-town.

On the North side, there's Alpine Meadows, Squaw and Homewood.
Squaw - you could get ski in/ski out. Alpine, I'm not sure, and Homewood, fairly certain there is no accomodation there.

When I was there, I stayed at the Granlibakken... http://www.granlibakken.com/ - the shuttle stopped at the hotel, so there was no problem getting to the various resorts.

You would probably like Squaw Creek Resort at Squaw Valley.   It's a real nice ski in/out property.

thanks for the replies. I will definitely do some more research....it seams that I am the in charge of the yearly trip out west, so I am looking for places that are consistent to those we have already been.

by the way does anyone know how to post a poll?  I cant seem to find it.

If you are interested in sking the S, Tahoe resorts - there is a Embassy suites near the gondola.
There are also 2  Marriots - but they are condo style with individual owners - so you would have to
check VRBO.

The Marriotts at the base of the Heavenly Gondola are Timber Lodge and also Grand Residence.  We own a Marriott TS (Aruba) and exchanged into TL.  It is great and very convenient for families.

There are a ton of Timeshares in South Lake Tahoe.  I think Hyatt has another TS in Incline Village (North Lake Tahoe).  Squaw also has a few TS at its base.

You can try VRBO to rent these or better yet for TS's try Redweek.com or Myresortnetwork.com.  Both are strictly timeshare rentals.
