Ski Lesson - Breckenridge or Vail?

So I'm an Eastern small-hill skier visiting Colorado (and any decent sized mountain) for the first time.  Spent the last 2 days at Beaver Creek, and took a full day lesson to try and get acquainted with all the fun stuff I can't get back home - proper bumps & glades, actual snow, etc.  Spent most of the day on the diamond bump runs up the Grouse Mountain lift, and in the Elk and Stone Creek glades.  Absolutely loved it and am looking for more.  The instructor had me pegged at a level 8, and I would consider myself to be an aggressive skier for the most part.

Within the next few days I will be skiing both Breck and Vail, but can only afford a lesson for one more day.  I'm looking to go bigger (and deeper if possible) during this lesson seeing as the initial shock of being thrown onto runs far steeper than I'd seen before has worn off.  So for someone who has never skied either of these mountains, which would be the better go terrain wise?  They both seem to have a good variety of terrain, and some large bowls which was something Beaver Creek lacked a little bit.

Cheers.

If you were skiing that terrain at BC, then I'd probably suggest going to Breck.  Vail has little terrain that is as steep as Peregrine and Goshawk at the Beav.  What it does have is an incredible set of open bowls that can be amazing on a powder day, but if you want steeps, you are better off looking for them at Breck.

I'd suggest that you ski out of Peak 8 for you lesson.  Here are my favorite instructors at Breck:  Mark Bagby, Carl Richter, and Jonathan Lawson.  There are other instructors who are supposed to be pretty good, but I've not skied with them.  These three are amongst the best instructors I've skied with anywhere.  They know the terrain well.

Breck is an area that benefits from a guide to take you to the best terrain.  I was very dismissive of Breck until I started the group lesson program there and found that they have some incredible terrain.  It may not be Jackson or Big Sky, but it's enough to tighten your sphincter.

Enjoy!
