wax colors, what does it mean?

Thread Starter
I have some old bars of ski wax with the label "Hertel" embedded. I have 3 different colored bars: pink, yellow, and light blue. My question is: Does anybody know how to translate these colors into target snow temperatures.. in other words, which color wax should I use for which snow conditions/temps?

Hertel web site does not provide any insight.. probably since they don't seem to make this kind of wax anymore.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

 Damn clear button :)

Generally, yellow waxes are warm weather, pinks are general temps, and blues are cold weather waxes.  But the easy way to tell is to dig/scrape a fingernail into the wax.  The softer the wax the warmer the temperatures it it designed to be used for.
