The U.S. Alpine Ski Team is having its best Olympics ever. Bode Miller's Gold in the Super Combined makes one medal in each metal so far in these Games. The U.S. men went 1-2-3 in the slalom portion of the Combined, with newcomer Will Brandenburg in 2nd and 2006 Super Combined Olympic Gold medalist Ted Ligety in 3rd. Andrew Weibrecht won Bronze in Men's Super-G. Lindsey Vonn won Gold in the Downhill and Bronze in Super-G. Julia Mancuso won two Silver medals in Downhill and Super Combined to go with the Gold medal she won at the 2006 Torino Olympics in Giant Slalom.

Tag's it--the Lucky Winner of the Sterling Skis Contest!
Congratulations to Tag, author of the above quoted sentence and winner of the contest for the splendid handmade Sterling Matterhorn Speed skis, plus bindings, plates, and poles, presented in their own custom-fitted velvet-lined box. This particular pair of skis has been featured on the pages of many national magazines this season. Upon hearing the news, Tag said, "I think I need to channel my teenage daughter for a minute. OMG!! SHUT UP! NO WAY!" Settling down a bit, he added, "As for what I'll do with the skis, they will be put through their paces out at Copper Mountain, the first chance I get! Once I get up the nerve to actually take them out of the box and ski on them that is."
