dumping across the ski centres in Scotland the last 48 hours. they should be up and running with beautiful conditions come the weekend

This from Cairngorm today...

Whiteout conditions are preventing further access to the upper Mountain. We have left the hill due to dangerous road conditions. There is betweem 1.5 and 2 metres of fresh powder on the Lower Slopes and Zig Zags and significantly more further up the Mountain.

I'm living in the plain of Northern Italy, just at the foot of the mountains, here the weather has been spring-like for most part of the past week. But the mountains in view were gorgeous, white with snow. Today looking north I can se eit's dark, and I can only hope that it's dumping there (I wish it were dumping here as well, but most flatlanders here won't be as happy as I would be)

its been snowing a lot recently in the cham, zermatt, verbier recently. snow this past weekend, snow the previous week.. about every 4-5 days before a nice dumping. of course theres been a few killer avalanches and a few cannons knocking off too much snow and 1 instance of a snow clearing bulldozer running me over on a traverse to vallon d'arby but otherwise the dumps have been very beneficial
