Weird thread but the answer is, I'm not sure a single person in a day of skiing would look twice at that jacket or realize it cost more than $300.
I mostly ski on-piste, which means I do not get encased in snow too often. Fancy ski coats are one of the biggest wastes of money I can think of when it comes to downhill skiing ... unless you do serious backcountry stuff. For most skiers, just about anything that calls itself waterproof breathable is waterproof enough and breathable enough.
I use a $200ish Columbia coat most of the time, and on warm days or if my main coat is still damp from the day before, I sometimes wear a $100 Marmot raincoat.
