What plate for MX78?

I am going to buy a new pair of MX78s. They are going to have a plate. The plate must allow gas pedal shims under the toe. I want it to allow the ski to flex. I am leaning toward a Marker Piston/M16.0 combo, but not totally married to it yet. Thinking about maybe an RK or something like that. Any suggestions?

Vist Speedlock Race. They will be offering a toe riser and longer posts as an option now.

Has to be available now. Like today.

Have your local Vist retailer contact them, I am sure you can get them in 3-4 short weeks at a price much higher than you were initially quoted ;).

Sounds great! Plus I'll be able to "VIST-out" every time I hit a rut.

I thought a plate for a MX 78 owner would be for car license, something like SKIMX78.

Epic, You would be one of the first I'd ask a binding question to. A Pro's Pro.

Thanks for the compliment. I pretty much know what I want, was just trying to make sure I hadn't overlooked a good option.

Guess you got the marker plate!
Does that have one shim under the toe piece?
Why didn't you go for the Kastle rail system?

He wanted to be able to adjust delta with shims. The KTi system is pretty darn cool, it is torsionally very rigid, the binding doesn't get pinched as the ski flexes, it doesn't effect ski flex at all... but you really can't shim anything- it is what it is.

Epic, time to wax/scrape/brush/wax/scrape/brush/wax/scrape/brush...

Hey, I thought you were a Holmenkohl guy?

Tog - the plate has 2mm of delta built in, so no shims right now though I have one on my RX. The Kastle plate is really nice, I think it lets the ski feel very natural. I'm hoping this one will be less intrusive than the thick plate on my RX. The new plate is pretty adjustable and I have it set to be as free-flexing as it can be.

Whiteroom - the Holmenkol is over to the right. I don't have any Flouro Holmenkol (yet), the Swix is for my race skis. The skis are soaking in some Beta right now.

Marc has a bit of Holmenkol product. His pair of RX70's were THE fastest skis I ever skied, they were the first skis I've been on that slowed down time.

What can I say? I like 'em. I've got FKS and P18s on a few of my skis, but all things considered I like Markers better.
