Volkl Racetiger Race Stock edge angles

Thread Starter
I have a pair of Volkl SL RaceTiger race stock 07/08 165cm skis and I am wondering what the base/edge angles where when they shipped from the factory. I have been told a few different things, 1 and 2..1 on the tip and tails and tapering to 0 under the foot.
I understand the argument that the factory is not consistent and every ski is a little different but they must have a goal in mind when manufacturing the skis.
Any info would be appreciated

i spent a lot of time researching this when i picked up my 08/09s, then concluded on 0.5/3 (base/side), but i didn't have a gauge to verify

I just found this though: http://www.volkl.com/ski/faq.php
"WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDED TUNING SPECS FOR VOLKL SKIS?
The factory specs of all adult models are the same. 2 degree bevel on the side edge and a 1 degree bevel on the base edge."

hmmmm

Pretty much been that way for years. Funny how people keep asking.

Generally Volkl is 1 and 2, however their race stocks have been coming at at either .5 and 2.5 or .5 and 3.

Honestly, most people don't need a .5 or .75 base bevel.  A properly tuned 1 and 2 will grab more than adequately for almost everyone but top-tier skiers.

Hi,

First of all you need to check behind the bindings at the end of the ski if there is a serial and model number handwritten.
If yes, then you have a race room ski. If no, then it is just a regular sandwich serial ski.

Race room skis from Volkl have usually no bevel on the base and edges for World Cup, unless it depends on the grind of the base, then maybe you have tops 0.5 base bevel.

Slalom Skis need a 0.5 base and 3 side.
De tuning 1 degree top and tail for 13" down for a radial base bevel. The skis are flying after that tune.
