With all the snow that has fallen in the lower half of the Keystone State, a trip out to The Knob is in order. Any Philly Bears that want to join me, I will be meeting and leaving Wicks at 5:45 AM. I have room for two, maybe 3 passengers (if I take the bof from work.

Who is with me?

Sorry to hijack Phil, but I don't want to clutter Epic up with another Blue Knob thread.

Can't make it Sunday, but I'll likely be there on Monday 2/15.  PM or post here if you can make it on Monday.

I'm likely in for Sunday, esp if I can rustle up a few friends to take the drive up from DC area with me.  Not sure if I can keep up with you guys for a whole day, but a few hours might be great fun. Right now Interstate 70 between me and BK is closed, but next few days including Sunday look good and clear. I couldn't get out of my neighborhood right now.  Blue Knob website says they are closed today, got 10-12 new snow yesterday with high winds.
I heard Ski Liberty near Gettysburg got nearly 2 more feet yesterday!
THE MID-ATLANTIC IS GROUND ZERO OF THE POWDER NUKE YOU WILL BE SEEING THE TRUE BLUE KNOB THIS WEEKEND.

BTW, I've been up there on Pres Weekend in recent years and there will be liftlines, but it's not too bad crowdwise. The groomed runs could see a lot of traffic, but the black diamonds usually offer decent crowd avoidance.

We were planning on heading north for the weekend, but it seems like west is the place to be.  So I'll be there with my family Saturday and Sunday, maybe Monday too.  Hopefully we'll see some of you there.

Look forward to skiing with you Ski3, your pics from the Gathering show that you are skiing great.

I'm tempted but I usually stay away from resorts on holiday weekends. I'll find you there if I show.

Ok, I'll catch you next sunday at the get together!  Have fun Sunday and let me know how it was.

If anyone else is going to be there Monday let me know.

pfblack is talking about going.  The Mrs and I might trek to State College the night before and relive college a bit (including some :gasp: Tussey turns).  We might even drag noofus and lovebug with us.

If the Mrs comes, I need to leave before 3 to come home on Sunday.

Mike, I may go Monday but I can't commit now. I'll PM later.  Tomorrow is really the day to go. Thetywere closed today so all that fell yesterday is still waiting.

I think we need a TJ's Meetup tonight to plan this little excursion...

Oh who am I kidding, we need a TJ's Meetup tonight to drink beer...  Anyone game?

I think I heard that Twintip is going to this event too.
Dang I wish I were joining in on this one.

Yeah today is no doubt fantastic since they were closed yesterday!  I'm expecting a killer TR from you.

Unfortunately, I'm working today.

Let me know if you'll be there Monday.

I thought I had a ski date with my wife and that meant the Springs but something was lost in communication so here I sit. I've  been skiing a lot lately and I really need to pay attention to my house. Massive clean up after a total bed room gut, right down to the studs. Talk about powder, fine dust from drywall work throughout the house. I'd really rather be skiing.

I thought you were going to BK today to get what was left from the last dump?

Were they closed Wednesday also? Otherwise, I'd think it would be pretty well tracked today even though they were closed yesterday. Anyway, it's been fun reading all your reports. I know yunz get lots of snow out your way every year, but being snowed in here at sea level for so many days, it's nice to know someone is putting the snow to good use.

I hear you LHC about all of the work around the house!  That's what I'll be doing for the next two days.  Scraping wallpaper patching and painting upstairs in anticipation of having new carpet installed in a few weeks.

Monday will be my ski day since I'm off, but my wife and kids will be at school.

Phil,
TeleRod and I plan to arrive BK about 10am Sunday.  We'll probably run into you underneath the double chairs or in black diamond lower mountain section.  I'll be in my standard green and gray outerwear, see avatar.  I'll PM a cell number, but they don't always work up there.  If all else fails want to set a meet up time on the summit next to top of double chairs?  11am?  Don't want to hold you guys back, so if I start to drag, feel free to break away after a few runs.

The Crazie family will be in attendance. Since this will be a family outing I will not expect to be skiing with you guys very much but I do hope to catch a few runs. If East Wall Glade is roped at the top (and I won't be surprised if it is) I can show you the lower entrance if you haven't found it.

One word about the top entrance of East Wall and the old glades off of Lower Shortway, Boneyard and Minestaft, these glades are no longer listed on the trail map and have not been tended to. Blue Knob has been very liberal with regards to trail openings. What I mean is they will often open a run that other resorts would not due to conditions.  If a trail is close it is so for good reason. I know they have kept trails closed to preserve base but I can't imagine this would be the case now. Blue Knob is a skiers mountain and deserves respect. See you all tomorrow.

I will be there in my Citron DNA w/ Grey pants. Either on Kastles or PBR's. We will have a huge group. Camera is charged.
