How much damage comes from a 80mph crash.....

So I'm looking into buying a pair of 2007 Fischer RC4 GS World Cup, only problem is they were smashed into a gate at 80mph a few years back. His specific words were: "Took a gate in Chile south America during training at around 80mph didn't feel too good but the skis survived and this is the only mark on then."  Seller says that they were professionally repaired and resealed. Should I take the chance?

chance would be somewhat reliant on price

He wants $600, I told him he was crazy.

Yeah I'd say you're right, he's crazy they're selling for half that online without a 80 mph gate smash.

$600 sounds quite a lot for me. I heard new race service skis can be bought for around 800-1000eur (probably same amount of $ on your side of ocean), but this is more or less list price, and I doubt they sell more then pair or two with price like this. In reality, with a bit of help from not so right people (with help of right people you can get them for free on beginning of season and return them on then end ), you can get them for around 300-400eur. And I'm talking about real race department skis, not store skis, which are normally cheaper and easier to get.
So in my mind $600 for used, and most likely damaged skis is way too much for me.

Pass.

They are not '07 skis. '07 and '08 only have a small yellow tip on the base, with the Fischer triangles, not the big logo. That base and the swoop below the S on the topsheet look like '05 graphics to me.

So now we have a potentially damaged ski from 2005... 200 bucks, if the bindings are in great shape.
