HEADLINE IS A BIT OFF and I do not know how to correct it: Park City is an option too, but not willing to take shuttle bus to ski, so can one stay in Park City - Main Street and then take skis to base via the "town lift" and then ski back to Main Street. Again, is that a practical and relaxed option. Also, heard so much about Park City grooming that have to try it, after all, just curious to know what that is like.

We have been to Alta. Thinking about combining a trip to Alta, with a few days visit to Big Cottonwood Canyon. Since Ski-in/Ski-out is critically important to us, Solitude seems like a logical choice. If any of you local and visiting folks who have skiied/stayed in both can compare the two, that would be much appreciated. It would be for my 7 year old boy and me.

Initial first brush plan could be to stay in Park City for say 3 days, then say go to Solitude for 3 days- need a hotel/inn/lodge with food in-house etc, condo will not do, and plan to simply ski, relax in lodge, back out and ski. Then shift base to Alta, for 3 days.

Any advice and insights appreciated. In Alta, we would stay at the Alta Lodge but we have no experience or ideas about Solitude, only Inn at Solitude nor any idea about Park City, where to stay with 7 year old, and not have to schlep miles with skis etc.

Please feel free to advise. Ideal would be to ski Park City 3 days, Solitude 3 days and Alta 4 days for nice intense ski trip. If this happens, dates we plan to be there are rangebound 10 days or so, from Mar 26 or 27 to April 5 or 6.
