Flawed! Doesn't define what a ski area is.

So I realized Friday I will have skied my 10th different ski area in my short life. Curious as to how many areas fellow bears have skied at

Unless I've forgotten any, I think 36 areas across 12 states and 1 province.  I've still got a *bunch* more on my list to hit. :)

id guess 35-50, dont really keep track or keep my lift tickets in an urn anywhere.. but I've been to most of the major resorts in the USA and canada at least once,

and yeah, you have to define ski area/resort. courcheval/3valleys is 8 "resorts" already for me but maybe only 1 "ski area". cham is another 6-8, verbier is i think 5 resorts but i have not yet skied at the 5th.

Last count was about 70 total.  12 states, 3 Canadian Provinces.  Unfortunately, I've never skied out of North America.

My record for a season was 29 different resorts.  (I could have made it 30, but decided to spend a second day at Alta on the SLC jaunt that year.)

Quick count says 29. 3 provinces, 5 (soon to be 6) states, and Austria.

I'm somewhere in the mid to high 20s There's a neat little area in your profile to track them.

This trip  only eight   too much driving..  How many trips, how many years,  I think I'll defer and figure it out when I cannot ski..  another day..
The count could be v aried since many family ski hills are not resorts and a day cross country skiing or back -country doesn't count???
By definition it must mean when you have to purchase a lift ticket, or atleast wear one.
  /^^/..

Where?  All I see is a couple of questions where you can respond with up to 400 characters.  That would give me about 5 characters per resort if I were to try listing them all.

Let's try:

Alta
Taos
Squaw
PCMR
DV
N*
Vail
BC
Nubs
Kmart

Fine so far, but how do I abbreviate Searchmont or Marquette Mountain or Cannonsberg  in 5 characters or less in a way that anyone elsecould understand it?

16, or 17 if Espace Killy is 2 areas (Val D'Isere and Tignes).

If you go to the Gear, Resorts & More and select a resort you can add it to your list. It will show up at the bottom of your profile page like so:

Walt, start by clicking the link at the top right of this page that is also your user name.  Then, scroll all the way to the bottom of your profile page and you will see four tabs "Gear" Resorts" Apparel" Other".  Click "Resorts" then browse through them and select them.

Just used the 'resorts' list and signed up over 60. Missing, but too lazy to add: Cervinia, Le(a?) Grand Montet, a couple places in the Dolomites, a place I don't recall the name of in France, the ski areas of the Monte Rosa region, Hintertux, Cerro Catedral, Crans Montana, Black Mt. A couple of 'lost areas': Intervale and Tyrol both in NH.

Arctic Valley, Army Arctic, Alyeska, Alta, A. Basin, Alpetal, Aspen MT, Aspen Hilgands, Alpine Medows.

That's the As' I think, and enough.
It makes my head hurt.

Thanks for the tips.  Like MR, I ticked off about 60 and there's another half-dozen or so not listed.

I added one manually, but it's kind of a PITA, so it may be awhile before I have a completed list.

Off the top of my head, the missing resorts are: Holimont, Snowsnake, The Homestead, Spring Mountain, Mont Ripley and probably a few others I've forgotten.

70+,  I think most of them are listed in one or both of the "Where have you skied threads"

More than 50 in North America. I've skied in 8 different states and Alberta in the last 4 years, about 25 different resorts during the that time.

I've lived in New Hampshire, Utah and learned to ski in the Midwest.

I've skied every snow belt state north of Maryland except RI &CT, every Western & Rocky Mountain State except WA, AZ & NM and every Great Lakes state except OH & IN.
