Hi, I am about to pick up skiing where I left off 15 years ago!!! At the time off my departure I skiied on Dynastar G9 203's previous to that it was always Dynastar Coupe de Monde GS 203's (green and black rascals).
I was a day in day out Grand Montet (argentiere in the chamonix valley) skier the G9's would carry me all over the mountain at moderate to warp speed through all snow conditions' I was never a fan of slalom skis as my advancing years can't be bothered making them turn all the time, much prefer GS and use the terrain to turn.At the time G9's had just been released ('94 - '95)
and were a revelation, I had never put anything on my feet that skied so well at all speeds in all conditions. As vindication of this, one of my good friends at the time, Stephane Dan, AKA Fan - Fan, who doubled as James bond in the ski sequences of whatever film it was, reckoned that they were the best skis he had ever put on his feet.He had some sort of Idea as he'd skied gates on the french national team
My G9's have been stolen and my Raichle Flexon Pro 9.9's with racing tongues have gone brittle with old age. What would be a decent combination now, I am totally bewildered by all this new technology and short ski nonsense with different skiis for different conditions. I'm 5' 9" and 92kilos.
If anyone was a fan by the way of G9's I know of 3 pairs in Italy, brand new and 49 Eoros will buy them. I intend to take part and buy a pair if only to wear on retro sundays that are taking place on the GM. Unfortunately my Patagonia Nitro pants are two sizes too small and Nitro jacket lets in water!!!
I Iook forward to all advice!!
