stowe reports 2-4 inches then they reported 3-5 and said 3-5 was conservative. They were right, stowe again most likely had the best conditions in the eastern USA face shots again today my pics dont prove but my Akokskis photos will.

Bluebird powder feels like cheating

Ed_D from epic tagged along for a couple more runs, we need to get him some big sticks so he can keep up with the big boys.

Akokskis loves the 3-5 inches of snow he on teles hence the surfiness

whiteroom and akokskis will have more pics might even have some of epic and whiteroom on the next bit of pics.

all of this snow wasnt perdicted by any major weather service either which was awesome more for me!

How all the other passions fleet to air,
As doubtful thoughts, and rash-embraced despair,
And shuddering fear, and green-eyed jealousy! O love,
Be moderate; allay thy ecstasy,
In measure rein thy joy; scant this excess.
I feel too much thy blessing: make it less,
For fear I surfeit.

  Trees.

   Wide open lines.
Top of the notch solo, then with BWPA's crew.
  Epic, Tusk... maybe not.
 Back to the car.

The dogs were pissed I didn't play with them more.

Everything is tiny in VT. Josh keeps saying we get lots of powder... it really is 'just a dusting', but we are all microscopic, so it seems deep.

I hear we might get another 1/2" tonight!

if you want more from today from adrian check this out.

http://skiclimbfishbum.com/2010/02/a-great-day-to-be-in-the-mountains/

or more from saturday.

It’s truly days like these that remind me just how much I love being in the mountains.

I went up to Stowe today with my buddy Mike.  When we got there, it was beyond packed (the lots were basically full by 1030).  Talking to a buddy that works there, it was officially the busiest day of the season so far… So we decided after a first run to go take a hike and ski around there.  We couldn’t have found a better day to go for a hike.  Easily one of the nicest days I’ve been out this year.

Beautiful day to be on the summit of Mt Mansfield.  Looking down towards the Greens and you can kind of see the Daks on the right.

The Daks across the way.

Mike killing it.

Aw yea.  Didn’t know we had such sick skiing in the East, did you?

Huckin’ on teles.  Rock on.

We went up again.  Looking out towards the Daks.

And looking down the spine of the greens.  You can see Camel’s Hump really nicely.  Behind it to the left is Mad River Glen, I think.

My tools for the day.

Myself coming down from the top.

What a sweet day.  The crowds were absurd, but we managed to escape.  Took some doing, but it was all worth it.  I love these days.

You didn't just escape, you went to another planet.  Great stuff.

Saturday (the 6th) was one of those days I didn't think existed at Stowe.  Bluebird, not a breath of wind, not too cold.  Simply amazing.  I even ventured into glades a few times (Nosedive glades, which -- don't laugh BWPA -- I think are tight.  ).  Spent most of my time lapping Goat, Starr, National, and Lookout.  (I'm a bumping guy, not a tree guy).  Repeat as necessary.    It's all good up there right now.

nosedive glades are pretty tight when they get skied out....but I actually like bobsled runs!

Heh, they're actually my pics (as he noted earlier), but yea, thanks nonetheless.

If you folks are interested in seeing more pics, feel free to check out my website.

(As an aside, I don't mind you posting them on here, bushwacker - I've already got enough trouble keeping up with everything that's going down on TGR, I just don't have time to pay attention to yet another forum).

I have to laugh I posted you took them, linked to your website and still got credit.

I basically only post in the east coast thread on TGR right now so its easy to keep track of one thread! and I am also not a dartmouth grad student...
