A snow board cracked my boots. Need new ones but there are no 2010 model EDT to be found. One shop has the old model, the same one I have myself now that is wrecked. Should I wait for the new boot or should I buy the the old one? What Head model would be equivalet in last width? I have a fearly big foot, Im now in a Nordica size 10. Thankful for any information on the subject.

the EDT shape and the non-EDT shape are VERY similar,  not 100% same, but damn close.

what BSL do you need?  my store has some of the non-EDT, WC shape for sale, and some of the EDT (not as much for sale)

no idea what head boot is similar, but any brands narrowest, stiffest race boot is a good starting point

I could get the old Dobie 130 Pro from the local shop but Im not sure. Maybe the new model is improved. The old has been arround for serverald years. My size is 10. Sole length is 335mm. Size mondo is 29-29,5.

how many threads do you currently have running about boots...... please get to a fitter and take their advice, you have been round the diy route too many times that i can remember... yes i know finland has a lack of boot fitters

for what it is worth the closest head would be the raptor RS125 or 130 as it is for 2010/11 the RD is a 95mm last rather than the 98 of the RS from Head or the Pro from nordica

Sorry CEM but I need to get some information on boots, information I dont seem to be able to get anywhere else. We dont have the bootfitting culture you have or the market volume needed for a wide variety of boots in all sizes. My boots got wrecked by a snowboard and now in the middle of the season with all races comming up Im a bit desperate. I think Im going to try to fix my old old boots and wait for the new EDT version. The Head boots are order only so I have no way of trying beforehand.

The local shop has been able to locate a pair of new dobies edt size 10. But there is a difference. The length of the sole is not 335mm like it used to be on the old model, now its 330mm. Wonder if that has any impact on the fitting?

Got my new EDT dobies yesterday. The general appearance is that its more a normal recreational design boot than a plug boot. Compared to my old ones. The models in between has also been a step in this direction so the evolution has been consistant. This time its even more stylish.

The way the shaft of the boot attaches to the lower boot  for example. Before it was much more simple and flushed. Now it has more shape to it even thouh it is a bit more narrow. On my old boots I could stick my fist easily down the shaft without a linear but on the new ones this is impossible. Causes some hot spots on the bones in the ancle. Wonder if its possible to widen the width?

Even though it looks like the new model is lower volume due to the slightly lower instep and the narrow shaft the fore foot is much wider. With the old boots I had to get the shell streched quite a bit but on this boot no such modification was needed.

The length of the old and the new boot is the same. I can swap linears easily between the two. I will probably need to strech the shell a bit at my big toe but Im going to ski first.

The heel pocket has more shape and is a bit tighter.

Are these thaughts and observations anywhere near a boot fitters veiwpoint?
