Alta Peruvian at the end of February

Hey.  I'm planning on staying at the Alta Peruvian at the end of February but my ski buddy is unavailable.  Rather than stay in the dorms I'm looking for any information about joining up with a group that is already planning to be there or with any other 1 or 2 people who wouldn't mind a roommate.  Does anyone have any info?

Let me know,
Eric

Hey.  DropkickMurphy.  You mentioned staying there last year at this time.  Do you remember any groups?

I wouldn't worry too much about the Dorms -- I stayed in them last new years and had a great time. They're small, but you're pretty much in the room to sleep. With ski in/out and 3 meals a day, I still think they're a great deal.

If it makes any difference, when I stayed in the Dorms, they were almost empty. (Maybe that influenced my view on them).

Eric-

I'll be up there 2/26 - 2/28 for the straightline steeps camp at snowbird and am still trying to figure out my lodging myself, but I wouldn't mind splitting something.  I was a bit nervous about doing the dorms for security purposes, and getting a decent night's sleep.

I currently am using hotel points to stay in Sandy, but would prefer to be up at the mountain.

I can do Thurs night, Fri night, and Sat night.

What are you currently looking at?

Mark:  I'm looking at Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday night.  Let me know if you want to try and put that together.

Thanks,

Hey.  If you read this post, Mark and I were unable to coordinate.  I'm still interested if anyone is going to be staying at the Peruvian between 2/26 and 3/2.  I'm going to book in the Dorms but would love to upgrade to a better room.

I just got back from a week at the Peruvian. The 2 times I stayed there, last year and this year, I stayed in the dorms.

There are always groups there, but the generally have their room bookings made in advance.

The dorms are fine. You'll get a small lockable compartment to store your valuables. Other than the time you're sleeping, you won't be spending your time in the room anyway.

I highly suggest bringing foam earplugs. They're pretty comfortable and will block out the noise of of snoring as well as the bar directly below the dorm room. I would also suggest requesting a lower bunk. Bring a headlamp or small flashlight with you. Makes it easy to come and go without disturbing anyone who might be sleeping.

Enjoy it. A stay at the Peruvian is a unique experience. Cool people, great food, great skiing, hot tubs, outdoor heated pool, bar, nice places to hang out and read, chat with people, watch a movie. E everything you need, and nothing you don't.
