Things are looking good for a quick recovery.  We're thinking of heading north Saturday evening to ski Sunday.    Anyone else?

Today was quite possibly the best day of the season so far. I was expecting to see 8-12", but it was consistently over my knees. I got faceshots. There were empty chairs on the quad all day too.

But once it got tracked out it must've been a mess?

Somehow it tracked out almost as if it had been groomed. Last run down Nosedive it felt just like a soft carpet of groominess. There was no wind, so the snow fell evenly across everything.

Nah, the storm is missing NE... once again down south is getting more snow than my house (such as that storm where Virginia got 2 ft and NY got 5 inches at my house...)

Saturday night-Sunday morning is looking very very good down here.  12" predicted here in Raleigh at 500 feet.  That probably translates in to 20-30 plus a bit farther north at 5500 feet.  However it can all go straight to hell at the last minute and be two inches of ice or some disastrous mix of both.  I hope to be skiing Sunday morning but might be home maintaining a kerosene heater if that is how it pans out. If we get anything frozen at all I plan to play in it with my kids Saturday afternoon/evening

That ought to be a good opportunity to let my son play with the poles out front that I wouldn't let him use at the lift served ski resort MLK weekend

Come on Snow Miser!

Woah... he has! The south has been relatively cold, as my Dec road trip to Florida was definitely colder than past years. Mid Atlantic is getting tons of snow and is colder than usual. NE is colder than usual, but less snowy. The Rockies are having a weak winter, and Tahoe is on par too... he's hit the spot pretty much

Just pulled the trigger and booked a room at Jay Peak for Saturday night.  Will be skiing there Sunday.
